Company Background
Corinth Films was founded in 1977 and was initially set up to
distribute foreign and classic films in the United States to select art theatres
and college and university film societies. 35mm and 16mm prints were used to
service the exhibition needs of these early customers. Videocassettes did not
exist during Corinth's early years. Technology has made film distribution different
today with a wafer thin DVD replacing the old cumbersome 16mm prints of the
past. But one thing hasn't changed, the need to acquire original film elements
to assure the best quality transfers to whatever technology offers as the format
of choice for distribution. Corinth works closely with producers and owners
of these original elements to assure that the latest in technology will be best
served by the most original film elements available. This is the essence of
the film collections Corinth represents.
How We Can Help
PROVIDING VALUABLE INFORMATION about our product, to help make
the best programming decisions is the first way we can help. We have something
unique to offer and we want to make you aware of the benefits that can be derived
from using programming from THE CORINTH COLLECTION. Our SELECTION OF PROGRAMMING
is purposeful - we do the work for you to provide the best programming from
the various programming categories and film genres that we acquire. Our source
VIDEO MASTERS are transferred whenever possible from the finest 16mm or 35mm
film elements. If a 35mm fine grain or negative is available, we use the CLOSEST
TO ORIGINAL generation material whenever possible. We also transfer to digital
when we go from print elements to video. Evidence of this effort can be seen
in the recent airings of our HOPALONG CASSIDY FEATURE FILM WESTERNS on Encore's
Westerns channel. The original black and white pristine quality is immediately
evident - like it must have been to see a new 35mm print in a theater in 1935
or 1940, when these films were originally released. Or look at the new DVD versions
of our FOREIGN FILMS and WADE WILLIAMS COLLECTION science fiction and Hollywood
films, which has been released by our licensee IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT. The digital
quality from the original film-to-tape transfers is superb. We also provide
specific information about the original material and transfer process used so
you will be aware of the source of our masters to help evaluate the quality
you will be receiving when you access our masters.
Policies and Procedures
Corinth's business policy is simple: work closely with our customers
to keep them informed of what is available and listen to their needs to help
formulate a plan as to what programming we should acquire in the future. We
also specialize in personalized service and work hard to respond quickly to
our customers’ needs. The license fees for our programming are based on
market size and number of potential viewers reached, the license period and
number of showings requested, and the programming you would like to license.
For a price quote, simply fax, mail, e-mail, or give us a call with information
about your station, system or channel, the approximate number of viewers, subscribers
or customers you reach, the programming you would like to license, and the license
period and number of showings you require. We will then contact you with a price
quote for our license fees. As soon as we agree on the license fee and terms,
we will send you a license agreement for your approval and signature, then ship
you either beta SP, 3/4 inch or one inch masters for you to dub to your stock
for use over the license period. Then just return the masters to us within ten
days after you've finished making your dubs.
